4th Annual Food Basket Giveaway

On Saturday, November 18th, staff from A Better Way’s Social Services had their 4th Annual Food Basket Giveaway in Hayward. Many thanks to Shiloh Church of Oakland for their generous food donations and continued collaboration. Also a great big thanks to Kim Martinez, Alexandria Lopez and Irma Fraire for securing turkeys and additional food bags through local store donations.

The Social Services Programs (SSP) staff did an amazing job, distributing 150 bags of food and 21 turkeys despite the rainy weather. SSP fed over 70 families when it was all said and done.

In addition to those listed above, a special shout out to staff members & supervisors: Jessica Rodriguez, Maria Lopez, Matthew Ashtari, Rosa Esquivel, Crystal Gates, Marcus Baker, Patricia Garcia, Alexandria Spencer, Jasmine Flannigan, Antoinette Stroughter, Holly Tracy and Michael Nobles, for sharing your Saturday with families to give a friendly smile, hand out food baskets, children’s books, and for “going with the flow” when the rain showed up -- all while supporting parents to stay safe.
